Untitled (date unknown)
Screen print on paper
Roy Lichtenstein’s Untitled (date unknown) appears similiar to works in his Modern series which focused on American architecture and design of the 1920s and 1930s. Using his signature style of comic strip-inspired Pop art, Lichtenstein shows several angles of a commercial building, possibly asking viewers to think about industrial advancements in urban areas.
The Lichtenstein print reminded me of this photograph I took in Columbus, Indiana.

Monochrome Madness will be posted a day early for your viewing pleasure on Leanne Cole’s blog.
If you would like to participate and submit a photo in the upcoming weeks, please email your monochrome image to email@example.com and include a link to your blog or website if you have one. It doesn’t have to be WordPress blogger, it can be a Facebook page, a Flickr page, etc. Include your name or your blog name. The image size should be low resolution, so the largest size should be 1000 pixels or less. The deadline for submission is before 6 p.m. on or before Tuesday, Melbourne Australia time. The earlier the better for Leanne. If you should miss the deadline your photograph will be posted the following week. The complete instructions are posted on Leanne’s blog should you have any questions or need help. The first MM of every month will have a theme. Monochrome Madness will be on hiatus as Leanne will be traveling to the USA and posting a journal during her trip. There will be no MM after this one until the first week of October and it will be another theme published the 7th of October. Leanne will be announcing what that theme will be.
