How Will You Kiss?
by Judith Pordon
How Will You Kiss?
Lilt me your lips,
our lost breath intermingling.
Synchronize our silence
as lazy hours ease by.
Waft cocoa, hazelnut, cinnamon,
scents around me.
Tremble with me
in paralyzing pauses.
I may no longer breathe
without breathing you.
A White Rose
by John Boyle O’Reilly
The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.
But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips.
How did it happen that their lips came together?
How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds,
that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill?
A kiss, and all was said.”
— Victor Hugo
“One loses time seeking for words;
one kiss brings understanding.”
“Perdi tempoando le parole,
bacia e sarai capito cerc.”
Love is the kiss
in the quiet nest
while the leaves are trembling,
mirrored in the water.
Federico García Lorca – The Butterfly’s Evil Spell
“There’s nothing deeper than love. In fairy tales, the princesses kiss the frogs, and the frogs become princes. In real life, the princesses kiss princes, and the princes turn into frogs.”
— Paulo Coelho, By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept

Will draw freehand
The infinite universe
Of this one continuous
Motion where lifting
The pen from the page
Creating with ease
Like the odd god I am.
A nobody with perfect prowess,
Daunting into never before land,
Surviving the beauty of a kiss.
In a Gondola
The moth’s kiss, first!
Kiss me as if you made believe
You were not sure, this eve,
How my face, your flower, had pursed
Its petals up; so, here and there
You brush it, till I grow aware
Who wants me, and wide open I burst.
The bee’s kiss, now!
Kiss me as if you enter’d gay
My heart at some noonday,
A bud that dares not disallow
The claim, so all is rendered up,
And passively its shattered cup
Over your head to sleep I bow.
