“Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden, is the only Kansas City-area venue to host Frida Kahlo’s Garden, an in-depth exhibition focusing on the influences and inspirations behind Frida Kahlo’s (1907–1954) body of work.” Here’s a sampling of that exhibit which is both biographical and educational.

She was an icon. A brilliant painter and an artist.

These photos are so interesting! I hadn’t seen Flower of Life before. I’m loving the symbolism, though I feel like it’s a bit overdone. The fruits, on the other hand, are mouth-watering. I actually see more sexuality there than in the Flower of Life.

I agree Gabriella. It wasn’t until I read about the Flower of Life that I became aware that there might be more sexuality than I had noticed.

You have really pushed me to learn more about artists, and yes Frida is a gem. Thank you, Maverick.
