National World War I Museum and Memorial
“These have dared bear the torches of sacrifice and service.
Their bodies return to dust but their work liveth evermore.
Let us strive on to do all which may achieve and cherish
a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”
We must NEVER forget

I wish more people were aware of the monument in Kansas City. I read that the last WWI vet died asking about the “official” one in Washington. (I also read that the President refused an invitation to this one to commemorate our entry into the war.)
