Some Velvet Morning
Some velvet mornin’ when I’m straight
I’m gonna open up your gate
And maybe tell you ’bout Phaedra
And how she gave me life
And how she made it end
Some velvet mornin’ when I’m straight
Flowers growing on a hill, dragonflies and daffodils
Learn from us very much, look at us but do not touch
Phaedra is my name
Some velvet mornin’ when I’m straight
I’m gonna open up your gate
And maybe tell you ’bout Phaedra
And how she gave me life
And how she made it end
Some velvet mornin’ when I’m straight
Flowers are the things we know, secrets are the things we grow
Learn from us very much, look at us but do not touch
Phaedra is my name
Nice dragonfly. I had forgotten all about this song but I remember it well (that sounds like a contradiction). I still don’t know what the lyrics mean but it’s still pretty heavy man and with the right stimulant you’ll understand the lyrics – or at least think you do.

Thanks David. It’s a great duet but you’e right the lyrics float a bit. 🙂

Dragonflies and Daffodils ~ Lee Hazlewood’s song is a bit of a mystery, Maverick; but your dragonfly and daffodil are as clear as clear can be 🙂
