Wonderful capture, Maverick. Bringing back memories of the trip to the country zoo I mentioned in a previous post (Taronga Western Plains Zoo). We actually stayed overnight in the zoo’s accommodation and could hear the animals; so enjoyable. The hippo enclosure was very modern and spacious. But, your images are streaks ahead of any of mine… π

Hippos are gorgeous. They’re among my favourite wild animals. Even the name is cool. πβ€οΈπβ€οΈ

I think he looks just fine! I have so many ‘hippo stories’ from my days in Africa, some very funny, others not so much π
