“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”
– William Wordsworth

Lovely. This was one of my lovely Dad’s favourite poems. Good memories to read it again, thank you.

I had forgotten about this poem and your post prompted me to look it up to read the rest. I like poems that rhyme and have a distinct meter that carries me along with the words. Thanks for the prompt.

I probably should have stated that this was an excerpt, thanks David. 🙂

Daffodils – so beautiful, no wonder William Wordsworth got inspired to pen such a beautiful poem making him gleefully exclaim: “my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils!” Thanks for bringing back time-blurred college memories!

Blurred memories, I know what you mean. William certainly lived up to his surname. Thanks for the comment Mike. 🙂

It’s one I always remember in the Spring because of daffodils. 🙂

Gorgeous! I love the Wordsworth poem this time each year. Your photos look so very much like my garden does at the moment! So cheerful when the bright yellow daffodils bloom against a backdrop of mouldering leaves. Best wishes, WG
