“Within all of us is a varying amount of space lint and star dust, the residue from our creation. Most are too busy to notice it, and it is stronger in some than others. It is strongest in those of us who fly and is responsible for an unconscious, subtle desire to slip into some wings and try for the elusive boundaries of our origin.” – K O Eckland

Thank you for liking “Balanced Rocks.” Beautiful post! 🙂 As you can tell from my avatar, I like butterflies. They are wonderful to see in person and in photos. I recently learned that the butterfly is a symbol for the human soul, which makes me like butterflies even more.
I also enjoyed the quote. I have thought about how we return to dust when we die, but it is interesting to think about having stardust in us while we live.

You’re most welcome. In Greek mythology, Psyche was known as the goddess of the soul and sometimes portrayed as a butterfly which is perhaps where the symbolism comes from. I always liked the quote of them being self propelled flowers. 🙂
Great job with your “Balanced Rock” post! Very cool.

Thanks for letting me know about Psyche. I used to enjoy reading Greek and Roman mythology when I was a child, but I have not thought about Psyche in a long time.
Butterflies as self-propelled flowers – what a clever way of describing them! 🙂 I like thinking of them that way too. 🙂
I am glad you enjoyed my “Balanced Rock” post. I still have a hard time believing the man-made balanced rocks stay in place simply by positioning the individual rocks a certain way. In one video I saw, the balanced rock formation collapsed right after the artist finished building it, but in the video I included in my post the man-made balanced rocks stayed together for a while. Maybe they stay in place just long enough for photos and some video footage.
