  1. I love the photo of the snake. I found a rattlesnake while walking alone in the Mojave and I still remember the feeling when it rattled. You brought the memories back!

    • Thanks. Hopefully a good memory. Years ago, while walking in the Arizona desert at dusk, a sidewinder slithered out right in front of me rattling. Only I wasn’t alone and had my Labrador with me so I took off running to keep her away from it. She’s my excuse anyway, lol.

      • I ran away, too. Actually, it was a really good experience, since it made me realize that nature isn’t beautiful for my personal enjoyment and I should be more careful when I’m out in it. I’m grateful didn’t need to get bitten to learn my lesson.

      • Makes you wonder what kind of stories the rattle snakes told about us, lol.

Your cemetary tour sounded really interesting. If I’m ever in the same area code I want to go. Also, you have books that are on my to read list.

      • You just made my evening. Thank you.

I’m setting up a cemetery tour each month. Next month, we’re going to one down where the sawmills used to be that milled the lumber that built towns during the Gold Rush. In July, we’re going to the Jewish cemeteries where Levi Strauss and Wyatt Earp are buried. I haven’t thought any farther than that, yet. I hope you can come sometime. It would be great to meet you.
