Blackmore’s Night – Ghost of a Rose

The valley green was so serene
In the middle ran a stream so blue…
A maiden fair, in despair, once had met her true love there and she told him…
She would say…
“Promise me, when you see, a white rose you’ll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose…”

Her eyes believed in mysteries
She would lay amongst the leaves of amber
Her spirit wild, heart of a child, yet gentle still and quiet and mild and he loved her…
When she would say…
“Promise me, when you see, a white rose you’ll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose…”

When all was done, she turned to run
Dancing to the setting sun as he watched her
And ever more he thought he saw
A glimpse of her upon the moors forever
He’d hear her say…
“Promise me , when you see, a white rose you’ll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose…”

Let the cat out of the bag it’s Monochrome Madness day!  Run over to Leanne Cole’s blog later on in the day to see what moments have been captured this week.  Last week’s contributions were superb.  Thanks to all the contributors, along with Leanne and Laura (vote for her photo) Macky.

And when the roses are half-bud soft flowers
And lovely as the king of flies has come
It was a fleeting visit, all too brief
In three short minutes, he had been and gone

He rested there upon an apple leaf
A gorgeous opal crown sat on his head
Although the garden is a lovely place
Was it worthy of so fine a guest

Ah…
Ah…
Ah…
Ah…

Dragonfly, dragonfly …

For me, there is very little difference between magic and art. To me, the ultimate act of magic  is
to create something from nothing: It’s like when the stage magician pulls the rabbit from the hat.  —- Alan Moore

Something borrowed, something blue, check out Leannes Cole’s blog later on for something new.
Gratitude to Leanne, Laura Macky, and all contributing photographers for providing what I suspect will once again be a variety of fabulous monochrome visuals.
