His bill will hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak
Food enough for a week,
But I'm damned if I see how the helican!

A cute poem I recognised and brought a smile! 🙂
We live about 20miles from the coast, Maverick, yet often see flocks of pelicans flying overhead. They are a great sight to see!

Thanks Carolyn. Being inland we don’t have as many but viewed just once in awhile. 🙂

After all these years I’ve been corrected. I always assumed that was an Ogden Nash poem.

You wouldn’t be the only one, it’s very Nash like. 🙂

Interesting, I could see them being temperamental.

Ducks specially swans and pelican have quite a bit of issues. We went to Malaysia, in the birds park. The pelican was quite a bit temperamental I would say.

I’ve heard that about swans and some breeds of ducks. The bird park in Malaysia is supposed to be really nice.

Yes it is, but I felt a bit neglected. The birds were not in best of shapes. But it’s beautiful and wonderful.
They could add more birds into it. But I guess some cost cutting measures are in place. Due to slow economic activity.
But overall I would highly recommend to visit it.
