By Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832)
I WANDERED lonely
Beneath the trees,
And sought for nothing,
But strolled at ease.
There in the shadows
A flower grew,
Like starlight beaming,
Like eyes so blue.
I sought to break it,
But heard it say:
“Shall I be broken
To fade away?”
I dug it out then
With roots and all,
And bore it home to
My garden small.
Again it’s planted
And finds repose;
And now as ever
It blooms and grows.

That was beautiful. I really enjoyed your poem.

It always makes me feel at peace when the words written a couple hundred years ago can feel so close to us now. Your images are amazing.

Fantastic photos, the first one is amazing, love the feeling captured in it, a bit foreboding. Beautiful poem! I hope that you were able to get out and about today without the rain. Enjoy your evening!

Thanks Mia. I had a lovely day walking through a light misty fog with apricot and magnolia’s blooming. Rain droplets were left on the blooms and with no wind the lake was like a mirror. Inside the conservatory it was mostly just the blue morpho butterflies leaving their cocoons. Hope you had a wonderful day. 🙂
