“My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.” — Song of Songs

I have always wanted to hear the voice of the turtle–do some kinds actually have a call? I remember showing my daughter how the snapdragon “snaps” and the wonder on her face….

I’ve heard that it’s the female that has the voice and in the ocean they do it when surfacing as kind of a mating call. Here’s a baby one that squeaks – https://youtu.be/MN6YOAYb_M0

Thank you! I guess”the voice of the turtle was heard in the ocean” doesn’t have the same ring to it.
