It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see. – Henry David Thoreau
Leanne Cole and Laura Macky’s weekly Monochrome Madness will be posted later today for your viewing pleasure on Leanne’s blog. If you would like to participate and submit a photo in the coming weeks, please email your monochrome image to leanne@leannecole.com.au and include a link to your blog or website if you have one. It doesn’t have to be WordPress blogger, it can be a Facebook page, a Flickr page, etc. Include your name or your blog name. The image size should be low resolution, so the largest size should be 1000 pixels or less. The deadline for submission is before 6 p.m. on or before Tuesday, Melbourne Australia time. The earlier the better for Leanne. If you should miss the deadline your photograph will be posted the following week. The complete instructions are posted on Leanne’s blog should you have any questions or need help.

I like your juxtaposition of the man made wooden forms surrounded by their natural forms. I also like the quote because I’m always thinking about the dichotomy of looking vs. seeing as it relates to photography. Often what I looked at when I took the picture is not what I see when I download the file. I worry that means I’m not that good if what I see is not what I looked at. But it’s okay because I usually get enjoyment from the latter, intentional or not.

Thanks David, I liked that blending of woods as well. And I think I know what you mean about the picture looking different after downloaded. Sometimes when shooting one you think is good turns out not so good or sometimes just the opposite.

Leanne follows a gazillion blogs so it might take her awhile to find you but I’m sure she’d be interested in seeing your art. You have a lot of diversity and some really good art work.
