“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes
it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Dr. Maya Angelou
Butterflies dance on the whisper’s of romance,
alight upon their wings sun-kissed,
joyfully soaring into Loves’s sweet bliss.

Butterflies are such beautiful, delicate creatures. Love the one resting on the lantana…the contrast of color is quite lovely!

You know plants Georgette, I had to look up lantana. 🙂
They are beautiful, as someone once said… butterflies are like self propelled flowers. And now somewhat less delicately… I’m self propelling to work. Have a great day! 🙂

Thanks Amy. The K. D’Angelo link (under the mushy stuff) has some photography tips for shooting butterflies. Probably nothing you don’t already know but figured I’d point it out. *Hugs*

Thank YOU, Maverick. I just now figured out how to do an incremental backup correctly, only after 5 hours of DUH! *shaking head* Don’t even go there. Honestly! I am leaning though. Tee hee …… Love, Amy

Thank you for liking “Rock Art: Part 1.” Wonderful work! 🙂 I am happy to see more lovely butterflies! 🙂 They bring back memories of the time when I had a monarch butterfly “nursery” in my backyard. The butterflies were attracted to the wild milkweed that grew behind my fence. If I looked under the top horizontal support beam of my fence, I usually saw a few chrysalises. Day after day, I checked on them waiting for butterflies to emerge. When one came out of its chrysalis, I would let it crawl on my finger, and it would usually stay on my finger until it was ready to fly away.

How cool! They’re sleepy when they emerge so I could see where they would rest on your finger for awhile before flight. Looks like the butterfly in your picture liked it there. 🙂
